Wessex Dance Academy

Wessex Dance Academy
Based on the success of a series of exploratory dance projects (in March 2009, and a launch project in April 2010) Hampshire County Council and Wessex Youth Offending Team opened the Wessex Dance Academy in 2011.
Operating from its new home in Winchester, the Wessex Dance Academy delivers 10 week long contemporary dance programmes to vulnerable and disadvantaged young people from across Hampshire.
The Wessex Dance Academy is recruiting for 2012:
Cohort 1 – 16th January – 30th March
Cohort 2 – 8th May – 20th July
Cohort 3 – 24th September – 7th December
We welcome referrals for young people aged over 15 years old who are:
- NEET (not in education, training or employment)
- in care
- care leavers
- under the supervision of the Youth Offending Team
- at risk of offending
- attending Pupil Referral Units
- excluded from school or school refusers
If you are interested in making a referral or would like to find out more, please contact Lorna Digweed – @hants.gov.uk">lorna.digweed@hants.gov.uk or 07809 501 440.
